menu home about us find us get in touch home about us directions get in touch we are a quiet friendly site located in the village of kilnsea close to the heritage coast and at the base of spurn point, a unique nature reserve owned and managed by yorkshire wildlife trust. driftwood is a small and peaceful tree enclosed site with five hard-standing pitches and electrical hook-ups. there is also an area for small tents. the site has a clean, modern shower and toilet building with hot and cold water. within walking distance, (150 metres) is the crown and anchor pub which sells excellent home cooked food and real ales and also offers stunning views across the humber estuary. next to the sea, about 500 metres away, is the blue bell cafe where you can buy tea, coffees, sandwiches snacks etc. there are plenty of coastal walks within the area and it is popular with cyclists too. there is easy access for fishing both at sea and along the river humber. the area is a haven for wildlife and is the mainland's most important site for migratory birds and as well as the many common species to be seen rarities are recorded on a regular basis. the nearest seaside town is withernsea (10 miles), whilst further up the coast are the hornsea free port (27 miles) and bridlington (42 miles). in hull (24 miles) is the deep, a huge aquarium with over 3,500 species of marine life including sharks and rays. for further information about spurn point including lighthouse visits and spurn safaris visit www.ywt.org.uk/spurn to book a pitch please call or email john & mandy hewitt kilnsea - driftwood the nookin kilnsea hull east yorkshire hu12 0ub tel : 01964 650208 or 07952 293060 email: [email protected] we are a freedom camping club site; you do not have to be a member to stay. site is open all year round though maybe limited to 2 hard standing pitches depending on conditions. dogs are allowed providing kept under control. site fees caravans, campervans, motorhomes £14 per night (includes hook-up if required). tents: small 1 or 2 man, £10, larger 3 or 4 man £14. we are a small site and so do not normally take tents larger than 4 man. hook-up for tents, additional £4 if available. bookings by phone 01964 650208 or 07952 293060 e-mail [email protected] we would love to have your comments from your visit to our cl please submit the contact form . you do not have to be a member to stay. reviews name : jem gardener comments : driftwood is a lovely site (and winner of my 'best bathroom' award!!). it was amazingly peaceful and i've rarely slept so well camping!
